On November 23, 2005, two leading global players in the steel industry namely Tata Steel and BlueScope Steel, inked a 50:50 Joint Venture agreement to form a new entity called "Tata BlueScope Steel". Tata Steel, world’s sixth largest player in the steel industry and BlueScope Steel, a leading international flat steel solutions company, came together to promote the usage of steel in construction industry in the SAARC region. Towards this aim, Tata BlueScope Steel provides metallic coated and painted steel sheets, pre-engineered buildings (PEB) and roll formed roof and walling profiles to its valued customers.
Tata BlueScope Steel believes in the "Safety First" philosophy and therefore safety practices are followed by the book in all the company offices and plants. Tata BlueScope Steel aspires to achieve "Zero Harm" for its employees in all its day-to-day activities. Tata BlueScope Steel supplies premium brands such as ZINCALUME® steel and COLORBOND® steel.
The downstream business comprising of the Building Solutions business and the Building Products & Distribution business - offers branded products such as the premium LYSAGHT® roll formed steel products and BUTLERTM metal building systems to the South Asian market. Tata BlueScope Steel intends to deliver value to its customers belonging to diverse sectors. The company wants to create new benchmarks to bring the best in the industry to its customers.

Manufacturing Facilities
Tata BlueScope Steel has three manufacturing facilities operational at Pune (Maharashtra), Bhiwadi (Rajastan) and Sriperumbudur (Tamil Nadu) as well as a new Coated Steel manufacturing facility coming up at Jamshedpur. The state-of-the-art coated steel facility at Jamshedpur has a Coil Painting Line of 1.5 LTPA capacity and Metal Coating line of 2.5 LTPA capacity.
The Hinjewadi facility, spread over approximately 30 acres manufactures, designs and supplies a range of pre-engineered buildings and steel building products. The Bhiwadi facility, spread over an area of 9.03 acres, manufactures roof and wall cladding solutions (pic.). The Sriperumbudur facility spread over an area of 10 acres, manufactures light steel structures and roof & wall cladding solutions.
All the facilities have been architecturally designed to showcase the company’s leading product brands. The plant buildings are BUTLERTM buildings, that truly represent 100 years of experience in pre-engineered metal buildings. The LYSAGHT® roofs and wall claddings have been manufactured from COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel that add to the aesthetic appeal of these buildings. All three beautifully landscaped facilities are well-equipped for rain water harvesting and sewage water treatment. The three facilities have been certified by Underwriters Laboratory Inc. for ISO 9001: 2008 and by M/s. UL MSS India for the ISO 14001:2004 & OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications |
